I'm enjoying your classes because they really feel like applied self-care. We are being given instruction and permission to soothe ourselves in this strange and groundless time. In a world where people are so hard on themselves, this is a wonderful remedy.

I have found that practicing with Susan has led me to a better understanding of myself. Susan offers more than just a physical practice. She is continually learning new ways to view ourselves in this world, with respect to our mind, our soul and our body and loves to share this with us.

I thoroughly enjoyed this art retreat with Susan, where we explored and shared all sorts of simple things and passions that light us up, especially important to recognize as we have started the season of longer nights. A small, safe, online group, a perfectly curated box of supplies safely delivered to my front door, amazing, sweet, and cute little notes with inspiration and opening instructions leading up to the retreat.

By the time we leave you, I feel really good and positive. I appreciate that you offer variations on many of the movements and encouragement to experiment to find what works best for us.

Susan's online classes not only provide an uplifting start to my day, but they also begin the day with a feeling of purpose, at a time when a sense of purpose is often hard to find, especially first thing in the morning. I appreciate that you infuse your offerings with a wonderful balance of both ‘the lighthearted’ and ‘the serious’. So I will continue to Zoom in to your classes, and will welcome your warm, generous, and insightful email communications.

Susan’s online practice has become a real cornerstone of my week. It’s not something that I thought I could initially do, as I have some significant mobility issues with my knees. To my delight and surprise, Susan offers an experience that encourages participants to focus on their abilities instead of limitations. I’m able to practice in a chair, standing, laying down or a combination, as being on the floor is difficult for me. Thank you Susan for creating a space that is so welcoming and inclusive.

I practice with the best instructor ever. Susan's style and manner are effective for nurturing well-being and relaxation and building skills in our movement practice. I always come away knowing that our time together helps to make me a healthier and happier woman.

My experience has been extremely enjoyable and meaningful. I especially value Susan’s ability to instill in me a very deep awareness of my body, my presence, and my value to myself. Susan is a gifted communicator, and practice with her is so much more than physical!

I'm incredibly grateful to have found Susan and her movement practice. She allows me to be myself - we can joke, laugh AND relax. She continues to encourage and champion my recovery from a Mild Traumatic Brain Injury. My weekly practice with her has been instrumental in my rehab in so many ways.

I’m 67 and taking up a new sport as challenging as diving was very daunting. When I submerged during my very first dive, panic took hold and my first instinct was to just bolt back up to the surface...So, I closed my eyes, pictured your face, Susan, and chanted the mantra to myself, “ I know I’m breathing in, I know I’m breathing out ...”. After several moments I calmed down, and was able to complete the underwater lessons. I used the strategy for the first few minutes of each dive after that, using yoga to make the transition from land to being 100 feet underwater. I was so excited and proud of myself for accomplishing a week of diving. Now I look forward to my second diving holiday with pleasure and am so thankful that yoga saved the day!

Greet the Day:
A Poem Made with Susan's Teaching Words
by Caroline Balderston Parry
Start with grounding
This container that we’re in…
Where are my feet? There’s rootedness.
Shake ankles…There’s also the possibility
To start feeling my breath, let it flow
as it does, opening up to this day.
Keep the knees firm, greet calves, thighs.
Allow the pelvic floor to smooth, soften.
Sigh. Exhale, drawing back to core; Centre.
Let my palms find each other, reaching
Upward, sensing into what the needs are.
What’s available? Inwardly, there’s prayer…
Let the breath be moving us, expanding us
In deepest care. Open to what wisdom is there.
Where are my thoughts? Here’s tenderness.
Hands rest on sternum: one a gentle fist....
What is arising now, as I knock at the door of my heart?
Hold us all in kindness, find radiance, calm.
